Summer Activities for Kids

A group of Skinker DeBaliviere parents is planning a series of summertime activities for kids — and we would like you to get involved. The activities will take place in the neighborhood and will be free or low-cost. Some ideas that have been floated:

· Jointly creating a painting or sculpture

· Biking up to the Forest Park together and going to the zoo or playground

· Organizing a neighborhood scavenger hunt.

· Exploring McPherson Community Garden

· Cooking a meal together

The targeted age group depends on the parents who are willing to lend a hand in organizing the activities. The tentative plan is to arrange an activity one morning each week during the “dog days of summer” — that is say, July and early August. We will have our first planning meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, April 30 at Kayak’s, 276 N Skinker Blvd. If you are interested, please e-mail or call or 314 494-1893. Alternatively just show up at the planning meeting on April 30.
