Breakfast Garden Tour

Enjoy a fine breakfast in the McPherson Community Garden, take a morning stroll to tour gardens in your lovely neighborhood, meet your neighbors, and discover hidden treasures.  Really what could be a better way to spend your Saturday morning! Dog Show

You & your pup are invited to a Dog Show (& even if you don’t have a dog….come!)! There will be prizes for fluffiest dog, biggest and smallest dog, best trick, & more!

Youth Environmental Art Workshop

A professional artist will lead youth ages 5 to 18 in making art, jewelry, household items, toys, and more using environmental and recycled items! Parents are welcome to attend with youth. The cost for the workshop is $5 per child or family member. This workshop will include lunch and art materials.  Space is limited so please register by May 1st! Dine Out for Skinker DeBaliviere

Tuesday, June 19th is the 4th Annual Dine Out for Skinker DeBaliviere ‘fun’-raiser. The Skinker DeBaliviere Community Council (SDCC) has lined up a number of Delmar Loop restaurants for you, your family, and friends to try out throughout the day. All you need to do is go to one of the participating restaurants, tell them that you’re with Dine Out for Skinker DeBaliviere, and a percentage of your meal price will be donated to SDCC! The money raised from this event goes back to SDCC to support the events, programs, and communication provided to the neighborhood by SDCC. Thank you for showing your support for the neighborhood and for your local businesses!

BBQ Concert Series: Soulard Blues Band

The Soulard Blues Band is an STL mainstay that has earned their reputation as the hardest working band in town after 30+ years of performing lively blues under the guidance of founder Art Dwyer.

Bring your friends or the whole family to the FREE SD concert series! BBQ & beverages will be for sale. All proceeds help support the concert series.

Homeowner Workshop-Living in a Historic District

Skinker DeBaliviere is one of St. Louis’ most beautiful historic districts. As a homeowner living in a historic district there are a lot of things to keep in mind about permits, repairs, historic tax credits, etc. In order to help residents understand more about these various topics, Skinker DeBaliviere Historic District Committee is hosting a panel presentation with representatives from the neighborhood, the city, and the state.
Guest Speakers: Representatives from the Skinker DeBaliviere Historic District Committee, the City of St. Louis Cultural Resource Office (CRO), and the Missouri State Historic Preservation Office

Times of Skinker DeBaliviere Fundraiser & New Neighbor Party

Friday, June 29th, 6pm

This year, the TIMES of SKINKER-DEBALIVIERE is joining forces with SDCC in hosting a “New Neighbors Party” at Joe’s Cafe, –Bill Christman’s unique sculpture garden and entertaining space.  All new neighbors are invited to come free of charge.  All other neighbors are invited to come with a minimum donation of $ 5 per person. Proceeds help keep the TIMES free to all homes.  A special free-admission invitation is being extended to those block “deliverers” who make that possible.  Invite your neighbors who are new within the last 1-2 years

Deadline for Art in the Alley Submissions

Sign your block up to participate in Art in the Alley by June 30th!
“Beautify Your Alley Through Art!”

 

To participate, each block alley contributes $10 to “the pot”. Drop off the money at SDCC at 6008 Kingsbury—they’ll hold it. Due date for participation is June 30, 2012.

The contest runs from July 1, 2012 to August 31, 2012. Independent judges, using before and after visits, will decide the winning alley.  The winning alley will be announced at the September concert and will get a trophy and all the money! Questions?
