Gardening Workshop: How to Start Seedlings Indoors

Have fun growing your own seedlings indoors! Hitch Powell will teach you how to select, grow, and transfer tomato seedlings to your garden and have the earliest harvest with healthy plants. Learn about the best varieties to choose, which are not usually available in nurseries. This will be a demonstration-based class. Topics will also include the following:
Grow lights or sunlight Starter kits or do it yourself
Selecting seeds Initial planting, how and when
Germination and culling Water and air during the growth stage
1st Repotting 2nd Repotting (for superior results)
Hardening Planting in the garden
Gardening Workshop: Stress-Free Gardening with Maximum Return
Gardening is a labor of love but it doesn’t have to be nearly as much work as you might think. Ligaya Figueras will teach us some ways to plant and tend a beautiful & bountiful garden with minimal effort.

H3 Studio and Development Strategies will present the work completed to date and conduct a series of interactive hands-on charrettes with those in attendance to gather feedback for the final framework plan for the Skinker DeBaliviere Community.

7th District Officer of the Year Luncheon

Please show your support for the 7th District police officers at the annual Officer of the Year Luncheon by purchasing your spot at the Skinker Debaliviere Community Council table. The cost to attend the luncheon is $20 per person. To reserve a spot please call 862-5122 or email the SDCC Office at firstname.lastname@example.org . The luncheon will recognize the 7th District Officers’ outstanding body of work in 2012. Maggie Crane is the Mistress of Ceremony. The keynote speaker for this event is To Be Announced. There will be an opportunity for the community to meet officers including the new 7th District Captain Gwen Spicer. A buffet lunch will be served. This annual event is open to the entire community.
