Skinker DeBaliviere Community Council (SDCC)’s Arts Committee invites all neighborhood youth to an arts workshop! Kids will work together to create a large-scale “DeBaliviere Skink,” which will be installed at Four Corners. The sculpture will become an informal mascot for the neighborhood. The skink is a kind of lizard that is native to Missouri. Children will also have the chance to make their own animals out of recycled materials that they can take home. This event will be hosted by the Skinker DeBaliviere Arts Council and led by professional artist Jenny Murphy of Perennial STL. To register your child/children, click here to download the registration form.
The Arts Council needs help from neighbors to collect used & recyclable materials for the workshop. Materials needed for the workshop include: 1) Colorful plastic bags (not brown, gray, or black) and 2) Colorful mesh fruit bags and 3) Large chip bags (for shiny colors!). Items can be dropped off at the SDCC Office-6008 Kingsbury Ave. at Des Peres-or call (314) 862-5122 to coordinate a drop-off time. Thank you!!
