Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)

csa[1]Unfortunately, due to declining interest, the 2016 Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Program has been halted. Lee Farms will be re-evaluating for the future. It is unknown at this time what 2017 will bring, but for 2016 there will not be a CSA.  Rusty and his family thank everyone here for their past support and will keep us updated as things sort out.

The 2016 CSA Program is open for signups! LeeFarms 2016 CSA Brochure and sign-up form.

Community Supported Agriculture Program (CSA) is a farmer-consumer exchange program that gives residents fresh produce throughout the growing season, as well as satisfaction gained from supporting local farmers. If you want to learn more about the 2016 program, read on for a note from Lee Farms’ own Rusty, Teresa, William and Doralynn Lee:

We are excited to begin the sign up period for the 2016 season. We really appreciate that so many of you took the time to provide your feedback to our end of year survey – we received some great input. We spent a lot of time analyzing the feedback from the survey as well as all of the comments we received from you throughout the year and are utilizing your input to make improvements to the CSA this year.

The cost for the 2016 CSA share will be $550 for the weekly delivery and $350 for the bi-weekly (every other week) delivery, which includes all applicable sales taxes. The Lee Farms CSA share will be packed in the same size boxes as last year and will contain 7 to 10 items and weigh approximately 7 to 10 pounds. The weight of the box will fluctuate across the season as a box containing the early season lettuces and greens will not weigh the same as a box containing potatoes and melons or winter squash and pumpkins.

We will continue to offer the “Vacation Box” option again this year. Each member will have one week throughout the 20 week season to notify us in advance (by a certain deadline each week) that your family will be “on vacation” that week and will not be picking up your box. We will then make a delivery on Week 21 just for the people who indicated that they were not picking up their box one week throughout the season, making it easier for CSA members to enjoy a full 20 weeks of local produce.

As always, the start of the 20 week season (or 10 week season for the Bi-Weekly Delivery) will be dependent upon the weather, but we are planning for the first delivery to occur in late May/early June. We will again be offering the popular farm tour in 2016 so you have the opportunity to see first-hand how and where your food is grown and experience some fun on the farm!

We are now accepting sign-ups for both returning and new members, so feel free to pass along information about the CSA to any friends or neighbors that might be interested. The sign-up period will remain open until we reach capacity. To reserve your spot in the 2016 Lee Farms CSA, please send in your sign up form (to make sure that we have your contact information correct) along with at least 50 percent of your share price. The remaining balance will be due by June 30th. LeeFarms 2016 CSA Brochure and sign-up form.

Thanks again for your support of local food and Lee Farms! If you have any questions about the 2016 CSA, please don’t hesitate to email us at rusty@leefarms.net or call Rusty on his cell at 314/954-0551.

We are looking forward to growing food for your family again this year!
